Iheoma U. Iruka, Ph.D

Dr. Iruka (she/her/hers) started RACCEE to address the way in which the identities of children of color, especially the culture, history, language, and experiences of Black children, are excluded from the learning environment. She believes in the power of policy-informing research to build more equitable and culturally responsive environments that optimize outcomes for minoritized children.

Dr. Iruka is currently a faculty member at the University of North Carolina. Her own research centers around ensuring that children who have been historically marginalized are provided with equitable opportunities by addressing their learning environments and systems of early care and education.
